Dr. Louis Civitarese has lived and practiced in the South Hills for over 20 years. He received his bachelor's degree at the University of Pittsburgh and furthered his education with a medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Specializing in Family Practice, Dr. Civitarese is certified as a Diplomate with the American Board of Family Practice and is boarded in geriatric medicine. He is the current president of Preferred Healthcare Informatics, the chair of Preferred Primary Care Physicians' IT and Research Committees, co-chair of Preferred's Quality Improvement Committee, and member of the board of directors. In addition, Dr. Civitarese has been a member of the Medical Advisory Committee for Highmark Health Plan. On staff at St. Clair Hospital since 1988, Dr. Civitarese is a member of the board of directors and serves as the St. Clair Hospital CMIO and medical staff vice-president. Dr. Civitarese has been affiliated with the sports programs of Chartiers Valley High School as their team physician.
